Vision Statement
PSS (Plant Safety System) is a software system that helps to improve safety in
industrial environments. The provided software collects various location
information from different sensors. This data is mapped to geographical
information showing detailed information about the location of persons within
definded areas. Thus the system delivers reliable information about how many
persons are within a certain area, which is necessary to know in case of
emergency.
Within this research project we eveluate several tracking
technologies and try to find out which fit best in the harsh industrial
environments. Furthermore a flexible software platform is provided that
seamlessly integrates different hardware sensors and provides accordant
visualization.
